When I was growing up, both of my parents constantly told me that when we leave this planet, the world should be better off for our having traveled here. This became a part of how I saw life. It is how both of my parents lived. In fact, my Dad, who just turned 88 on July 6, is a perfect example of this. He has spent his entire life looking for ways to help other people. He was Governor of Florida Kiwanis in 1964 and still goes to meetings in Indianapolis as an advisor to Kiwanis International.

What I have learned by looking at my own purpose and helping others is that I benefit as much as those I help. It touches me at deep places to see someone's life or circumstances improve. I feel more connected, and know that my life has more significance, when I make a difference in someone's life.

This is our great calling - to live in away that makes a difference. Through doing this, both we and others become more whole. Giving to others, caring and reaching out, is how we become more complete as human beings. What difference do you feel called to make?

This week I've been commenting on ways to think and live bigger. Now lets talk about how you can contribute to creating a more Conscious World tm.

It all starts with allowing yourself to move outside your current comfort zone by beginning to think and envision bigger possibilities.

One way to do this is by asking yourself a series of questions that will stimulate you and focus your mind on discovering solutions. Your Vision can then easily expand to include a world in which these visions are already completed.

What would it be like to live in a world in which people focused on loving one another?

What would it be like to live in a world in which people cooperated in solving problems?

What would it be like to live in a world in which we had unlimited supplies of alternative energy that didn’t harm the environment?

What would it be like to live in a world in which we all respected one another's beliefs?

What would it be like to live in a world in which everyone had plenty to eat and was healthy?

What would it be like to live in a world in which wars were a thing of the past?

What would it be like to live in a world in which people chose their work based on what they valued most in life and were fulfilled by the way they earned their livelihood?

You can add more questions so that your vision expands even further.

We are living at a time when we are having the fastest shift ever on this planet. People are rapidly waking up to realize that there is more to life than the endless cycle of always trying to get more. People are wanting financial success in a new way - they are wanting to make their money in a way that is more conscious, one that involves meeting their needs, the needs of others and the needs of the world, all three.

This rapid conscious shift is occurring because more people are realizing that without an inner sense of purpose, they really feel no deeper significance in their lives. Wealth lived on purpose, money made in keeping with your values, wealth defined by more than financial success, and more holistically, is what I find my clients are wanting. This is what I am writing about weekly and in my upcoming book.
